A dance artist.
Mui started her Chinese dance training in Hong Kong in the 1970s. In the 1980s, she joined the Hong Kong Dance Company as a full-time dancer, taking up main roles in dance drama productions such as The Yellow Earth and Rouge. She became an independent dancer/ teacher/ choreographer in the 1990s.
Active in the local and international dance scene, she has won multiple awards in the Hong Kong Dance Alliance’s Hong Kong Dance Awards, including the Distinguished Achievement Award in 2012. She was an Honorary Fellow at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 2013. In 2022, she received the Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
